A New government
The general election that took place on the 6th May 2010 led to a new government in Britain. Labour Party had been in power since 1997 with Tony Blair and then Gordon Brown as Prime Minster. it has been replaced by a coalition between the Conservative Party and the liberal Democrats. According to Insideout.net (2010) that the new Prime Minster by the name David Cameron is the youngest Prime Minster for almost 200 years of rule in government is also the leader of Conservatives. its said that for the first time in 65 years that the Liberial Democrats(Lib Dem's) to form a government, because the Conservatives or Labour have been in power since the time of the world war 2 in 1945. The both Parties have the different opinion to give the public and government for the Conservatives they have the tendency to favour the free market, privatisation and low taxation, and Labour also have a tendency to commit to greater social and economic equality, favoured a larger role for government for public spending .however, both parties had become more moderate, the distance between them decreased. Lil Dem's is said to be somewhere close to middle of the political spectrum, maybe closer to Labour compare to the Conservatives, distinctive it is said to be in position of their own not in all issues. Insideout.net(2010) stated that the Conservatives won with votes of 36%. The 650 seats in the parliament, and the Conservatives won 306, Labour 258,and the Lib Dem's 57. its said that for the first time since 1974, no party had more seats than other parties all together the situation is known as a hung parliament. But also certainly need help of other party to form a government.11th May the Conservatives and Lib Dem's announced the forming the coalition.
